Wild Australia: The Edge brings us into a world full of exotic and unique flora and fauna through the eyes of explorers. The movie is filmed in Australia’s largest city, featuring in all its glory Australia’s Blue Mountains wilderness. The film takes us to waterfalls, canyons and underground rivers and allows us viewers to marvel at the delicate wild life that this natural treasure houses. The Edge was a Heliograph Production and was released in 1996 by Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. The film became an important eye-opener for every tourist who would want to take the opportunity to explore this beautiful place on earth.

Even if you don’t particularly enjoy zombie flicks, 28 Days Later is a movie well worth watching. The first scene where Jim, a bicycle courier, wakes up from a coma and leaves the hospital to find London completely deserted, is one to look out for. The many attack scenes are also worth sitting through with your eyes wide open: the church with the zombie priest (apparently the cross doesn’t repel the living dead), the tunnel after getting a flat tire, and a soldier zombie destroying what is perhaps the last human hideout in London.

It is the story of Max Payne, based on the main character of a hit video game. Payne’s wife and child were murdered. Turns out to be a big mistake for the enemies. Because he will use all of his time and energy to find out who killed his family. The film used special effects similar to those movie greats like Matrix. Slow motion bullets and the likes. Awesome action scenes. He is set out to deliver the maximum amount of pain with his vengeance. Putting it into a fair perspective, the film is much better than Super Mario brothers.

Eagle Eye, starring Shia Labeouf and Michelle Monaghan, is a story of two strangers eventually joined together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never even met. Threatening their lives and their loved ones, the woman pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations. The movie somewhat higlights high-tech equipments to track and control every move both take. As the story progresses, the situation escalates, these two ordinary people are framed and have become the country’s most wanted fugitives. They are forced to help each other out to discover the real story behind their frame-up. Fighting for their lives, struggling to survive, they become pawns of a faceless enemy who seems to have unceasing power to manipulate them. It is directed by DJ Caruso and written for the screen by Travis Wright and John Glenn.

The globe of 3D animated films is getting more and more jam-packed. There is still one acknowledged king of the mount when it comes to 3D animated movies… and that’s obviously Pixar. I find myself having a tricky time getting too enthusiastic about any animated film that doesn’t come from them these days (although as Kung Fu Panda demonstrated, there are exceptions).

The idea for Igor is in point of fact a pretty imaginative one. In a country called “Malaria” the people were once contented and prosperous farmers until mysterious clouds covered the land leaving it in permanent darkness. To survive, the country changed industries from cultivating to evil mad science!!!! Now the celebrities are the best evil mad scientists… and in Malaria if you are born with a hunch back, your name is changed to “Igor” and you turn out to be assigned to an evil scientist as their stupid and slow witted supporter. However, one Igor (John Cusack) is actually quite brilliant and dreams of being recognized as the furthermost mad scientist in the world… if he can get people to look past the fact that he’s an Igor.

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is a conscience-free billionaire whose business is building weapons of mass destruction. He realizes his mistakes after he was severely injured while testing one of those weapons in Afghanistan.

He was kidnapped by insurgents and was ordered to build a meaner weapon of destruction but instead he built a suit of iron armor to escape his captors. When he was able to go back to the U.S., Stark put a stop to his weapon production and focus on his iron creation and transformed this into a supersuit and making himself a superhero that protects the weak and restores justice and peace to the world.

This movie is a dream come-true for all martial arts fans…the teaming up of two of the greatest martial artists of all-time, Jackie Chan and Jet Li. The tandem should have taken a long time ago but waiting has come to an end when they both came to the Forbidden Kingdom.

Jason Williams’ (Michael Angarano) is a kid obsessed with kung fu movies leads him to an antique store and finds an ancient Chinese staff that transported him back in time. There he met the drunken martial-arts master Lu Yan (Jackie Chan), the Silent Monk (Jet Li) and the beautiful Golden Sparrow (Crystal Liu Yi Fei). They all help Jason return the staff to its rightful owner, the Monkey King who was imprisoned by the evil Jade Warlord (Collin Chou).

This movie is based on a classic children’s cartoon, Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch). He is a young hotshot race-car driver who is highly supported by his team. His biggest supporters are his mom (Susan Sarandon), his dad (John Goodman) and his loving girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci).

His powerful race-winning Mach 5 vehicle, Speed Racer tries to battle a huge gang of race-car-driving total cheaters when he challenges on the meanest and richest racing tycoon alive. Defending the honor of his father, his dead older brother, Rex Racer, Speed teams up with the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox) as he attempts to win the Crucible cross-country rally and keep the sport he loves honest and clean.

In 1937, a British journalist George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) goes to China during the Japanese invasion and finds himself leading a group of 60 orphaned Chinese boys on a journey over the Liu Pan Shan mountains towards the Mongolian desert to escape the Japanese forces.

As Hogg continues on his heroic rescue, he is helped by Chen Hansheng (Chow Yun-Fat), the rebel leader of a Chinese partisan group, Lee (Radha Mitchell), an Australian woman who provides medical help and Madame Wang (Michelle Yeoh), an aristrocrat who is also fleeing for her dear life. He was able to lead them across the mountains and deserts safely.

The movie is directed by Roger Spottiswoode and it would be released on theaters on May 23, 2008 with a movie rating of R due to some disturbing content and violence.

One of the most striking moments of any movie is a sudden appearance of one of the main characters.  Often, their entrances are not particularly extraordinary but there are some that are well-executed and memorable. Jaws is a movie about a shark attack but a full view of the shark itself was not provided until more than an hour into the film.  In this scene, Police Chief Brody had the task of throwing bloody meat overboard to bait the shark.  As he tosses the meat chunks into the water, a monstrous great white shark rises out and nearly bites his hand off.  This occurs about an hour and twenty minutes from the start of the movie and is truly a spine-tingling moment.
