What will happen if you put Susan Sarandon, Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl and Amanda Seyfried together? You get one awesome romantic comedy movie. This star studded movie is actually a remake of the film Mon frère se marie, which is a 2006 French film. It is about a divorced couple who has to pretend that they are still together because their adopted son is about to married and have invited his biological mother who happens to be a devote Catholic.

Despite the impressive casting, the film fell short of “comedy”. There sure are a lot of jokes and punch lines thrown here and there but not all are actually remotely funny.  The setting and the beautiful actresses are very appealing to look at but it still lacks the charisma that most comedies have. The film is written and directed by Justin Zackman.

Nicholas Sparks is known for writing novels that are perfect for movies. He has once again proven how much he’s capable of making women all over the world grab a box of Kleenex. Safe Haven is his latest novel that was turned into a movie that is directed by Lasse Hallstrom. Josh Duhamel, Julian Hough and Colbie Smolders all star in the movie.

The story revolves around Hough’s character, Erin, who leaves her abusive husband, a police detective. She hides in the sleepy town of Southport, North Carolina where she meets and falls in love with Duhmel’s character, Alex. The complication happens when Alex finds out that Erin is not who she says she is. Her detective husband manages to track her down and cause havoc in the small town.

The movie was shot in North Carolina and was released in America on the 14th of February. It had mixed reviews, others liking it, and some thinking it was completely predictable.

News of the comedy musical Pitch Perfect sequel is a buzz. The success of the extremely laugh out loud funny movie could not be ignored and the fans want more of the talented Fat Amy and the rest of the Acapella crew! Actress Rebel Wilson and Skylar Astin are said to have both been on meetings discussing a possible second movie. ”I do have a meeting with a Universal representative next week. And I know that Rebel had hers last weekend. It’s definitely a talking point.” revealed Astin.

Pitch Perfect has been called “The Bridesmaids” movie of 2012. Clearly, that goes as a compliment since Bridesmaids was surprisingly great comedy! With the popularity of Glee, this movie came out at the right time and hit all punch lines/parody spot on. This movie was inspired by a true story of a vacationing family that survived the 2004 tsunami, known to be as one of the deadliest natural disasters on records, starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts. The movie is a mixed of human suffering, courage and survival. Depending on the way you look it, it can also be about love, faith and family or about the possible causes of tsunami itself. The tsunami happens during the Christmas season and hit many resort area beaches in Thailand taking not only South Asians but many visiting vacationers. People everywhere were all affected. The film begun when a family celebrating their Christmas holidays in a tropical paradise resort in Khao Lak Thailand experienced the tsunami, and was separated from each others during the disaster.

Many people are saying that it is a great honor for people around the globe to know more about the tragedy. But many people are also commenting about the movie and why it focus on one tourist family while it supposed to focus on the real people who are affected by Tsunami – the natives of Thailand. it is creating issues in the online world.

Whatever side are you on, The Impossible movie clips is just so interesting and this film is undeniably an exciting one. It’s a perfect film that can surely touch your heart and soul. I believe that it is a must- see film, you will surely thank God that you are still alive and I’m going to rate it 4 out of the 5. I just hope that the actors and actresses in the movie took time to learn Thai to make it more realistic.

Les Miserables has been turned into a film, and a big one at that! The film directed by Tom Hooper is based on the same musical with the same name which was based on the Victor Hugo classic novel of the same name. The film was premiered on the 5th of December in in London but released officially in the US on Christmas Day. The film had a star-studded ensembles with big stars such as Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried for the lead roles.

What is impressive about this film is that it was shot with the actors all singing live. It sure gives the people a broader appreciation for the actors in the movie. It sure must be hard to act, sing and dance all at the same time but the cast has done it all so naturally. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone gave it a positive review saying  “Besides being a feast for the eyes and ears, Les Misérables overflows with humor, heartbreak, rousing action and ravishing romance. Damn the imperfections, it’s perfectly marvelous.” It is definitely something you should consider seeing at the big screens.

Funny man Judd Apataw continues to make people laugh with his latest film “This is 40″ For those of you who have seen the blockbuster hit Knocked Up starring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen, this is sort of the sequel because the story revolves around the charaters that played Heigl’s sister and her husband. (Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd) both characters in the film are turning 40. The film is about the 3 week chaotic period before the big birthday.

This is 4O is both written and directed by Apataw whose known for his mature comedy of real life. His style is much more personal and even affectionate. For those of you who don’t know, Leslie Mann is his wife and the two children in the movie are his daughters. It truly is a family affair! Apataw directed othe hit films such as The 40 Year Old Virgin, Funny People and the 90′s TV series Freaks and Geeks.

The fifth and final installment of the super popular Twilight series has premiered last week and is now at the top of the US box office with $64 million dollar earning (and counting) this weekend. Perfect timing because it was also Thanksgiving weekend which meant everyone who had no time due to their school/work was able to see it in theaters. The conclusion to the series had many surprises and twists that kept the fans of the movie happy but the critics are not all praises. It is most certainly made for their fans because people would go crazy regardless if Edward and Bella were speaking in Chinese. Kristen Stewart’s performance is still unimpressive and you wonder why this actress got to play the role when all she does is deliver her lines with dead eyes and uncomfortable expressions. Meanwhile the two lead male characters Rob Pattinson and Taylor Laughtner’s acting skills are not taking that much blow probably because they are complete man candies.
